8-prenylnaringenin structurally belongs to the group of prenylated flavonoids and has been shown to be a potent phytoestrogen. The estrogenic potential of prenylated flavonoids from hops has been shown to alleviate menopausal and post-menopausal symptoms in women. In particular, 8-prenylnaringenin, is considered to be the most potent phytoestrogen thus far discovered.
Sources of Exposure: Hop (Humulus lupulus L.), a key ingredient for beer brewing
