Bisphenol F (BPF) is a common substitute for Bisphenol A (BPA) in manufacturing of products containing polycarbonates and epoxy resins. It has been proven to be just as potent as BPA in disrupting normal hormone functioning. Increasing concern over bisphenol A (BPA) as an endocrine-disrupting chemical and its possible effects on human health have prompted the removal of BPA from consumer products, often labeled “BPA-free.” However, “BPA-free” may contain BPA alternatives, such as BPS and BPF, which are equally harmful to the endocrine system.
