Ethylhexylglycerin is a relatively new cosmetic ingredient that is used as a surfactant, emollient, skin‐conditioner, and antimicrobial. Ethylhexylglycerin is also used to increase the effectiveness of the preservative phenoxyethanol. It has been reported as a contact allergen.
