Propylene glycol (PG) is a surfactant, emollient and emulsifier found in cosmetics, medications, and food. It has been named the American Contact Dermatitis Society's Allergen of the Year for 2018.

Health Impacts: Propylene glycol has been shown to case allergic and irritant contact dermatitis as well as systemic cutaneous reactions.
