Description:

Chlorothalonil is a broad-spectrum fungicide and antimicrobial agent. It is used in the United States on food crops, turf, and ornamental plants and as a mildewcide in materials such as paints, adhesives, plaster, lumber, and other building products. Its approval for use in plant-protection products was not renewed in the European Union because of concerns including groundwater contamination, possible genotoxicity, and risks to aquatic organisms.
