Description:

Phenanthrene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), a class of toxic compounds formed primarily through incomplete combustion. It is found in fossil fuels such as petroleum and coal and their derivatives. Phenanthrene has limited industrial use as a feedstock in the manufacture of dyes, pesticides, and explosives.
