Insect Repellents

Bug protection should do its job without quietly adding new worries. Many insect repellents (even plant-based ones) can introduce concerns such as endocrine-disrupting chemicals, contaminants, and skin irritants into the mix, especially when used frequently or over large areas of skin. Botanical formulas are not automatically "clean." They can be adulterated, contaminated, or combined with other additives, making them more concerning than we may realize. We haven't yet found a GO insect repellent that meets our highest bar, but we have identified SLOW options that can make sense when you truly need bug protection. When bites are a real concern, use repellent thoughtfully, apply it only where needed, and wash it off once you're back inside. For now, we recommend choosing from SLOW insect repellents in the Million Marker Insect Repellent Product Guide. If you discover a product you love, let us know so we can evaluate it and hopefully move closer to a future GO option.

Products are split into three levels based on ingredient labels
