Weight Loss and Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs): Live Well Phase I

This study will
1) Determine if MM's 16-week EDC intervention program (EDC testing and report-back, EDC reduction curriculum, and group coaching) can reduce weight
2) Determine if a 16-week validated digital weight loss program (Noom) 14 can reduce EDC exposures
3) Compare the effectiveness of the two interventions at reducing weight and urinary EDC metabolites.

Past Studies

Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disruptors (REED) Study Phase I

The goals of this study are:
1) Test the feasibility of offering MM's service to the HNP existing and future participants
2) Collect data and assess EDC levels among participants
3) Test the usability and perception of MM's service among participants
4) Test whether offering MM's service can lead to EDC reduction behaviors among participants
After this study:
We found a general trend of decreased EDC exposure with the intervention, as well as increased RtC.

Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disruptors (REED) Study Phase II

In Phase I, we developed and tested the FIRST mobile EDC intervention service (app and exposure report-back) for its efficacy in reducing EDC levels.
In Phase II of this study, we are looking to
1) Develop an EDC-specific online intervention curriculum
2) Test a self-directed online interactive curriculum with live counseling sessions and individualized support modeled.

Minority Environmental Exposure Education and Tracking (MEET)

Our mission is to create a platform for individuals to learn about EDC exposure. This MEET project focuses on a cohort of Black individuals.
This study looks to:
1: Identify lifestyle factors and products in a minority population that may contribute to harmful exposures.
2: Develop culturally appropriate educational EDC materials and recommendations to enhance EHL and reduce exposures.
3: Integrate and test the usability of MEET and assess effectiveness of the intervention.

Assessing PFAS Exposure (APEX) for Better Health: Phase I

The goals of this study are to:
1) Develop a personalized actionable PFAS blood test report-back intervention for individuals and their Health Care Providers.
2) Develop and pilot test a PFAS EHL survey, PFAS exposure questions, and usability of the report-back.
3) Assess whether the report-back intervention increases PFAS EHL, reduces risks and improves wellness in a rural population.
